Abstract

This editorial introduces Magistru Psihoeducațional as an open-access academic publication developed from the authors’ experience in psychology and educational sciences. The series was created in response to the need for a platform that supports the dissemination of knowledge, encourages collaboration, and connects academic research with professional practice. Inspired by the term magistru, the publication reflects a commitment to intellectual guidance, scholarly dialogue, and responsible educational contribution.

The initiative also responds to persistent challenges in academic publishing, both in Romania and internationally, including limited visibility, unequal access, and structural barriers that affect authors and readers alike. By adopting an open-access model, the publication aims to make academic work more accessible and to support a fairer circulation of knowledge. This approach is especially important in fields such as psychology and education, where the exchange between theory and applied practice can have direct social and professional value.

A key purpose of the series is to reduce the distance between research and practice. Drawing on the founders’ previous work in inclusive education, school counseling, ethics, learning methods, and contemporary psychological issues, the publication continues an already established interest in the relationship between theory, intervention, and professional responsibility. It also seeks to offer a meaningful framework for early-career authors, for whom belonging to a scientific community can strengthen confidence and academic participation.
